PT. Kereta Api corrupt security officers

I was about to picked up my wife at Gambir train station at 4.30 am last Thursday. Entering the concourse, I tried to find concourse ticket booth (tiket peron). Gate security told me that the booth open at 7am and asked for IDR 1,500 (15 cents) for allowing me to go upstairs. No ticket whatsoever.. just keep whispering asking for the 15 cents. I called my wife tell her that I prefer waiting downstairs instead of bribing or arguing with those pathetic officers and ask her to get a helper to carry luggage.

I sent email straight away to the contact address at their website http://www.kereta-api.com/ while saw them taking money discreetly from people entering the concourse. I grinned to myself wondering if any PT.KA managers aware of such condition. They simply do not care and dumb whether the rule is violated or not, whether they are try to respect the customers or not, whether they damaging mentality of their security staffs. I remembered repeatedly asking them, ‘are you saying because of the booth is closed, I cant pick up my wife?’ Answer was always the same, ’15 cents first’. Its not their fault (but dumb answer for sure:)) but the management.

Maybe same case with my email.. its like waiting for Godot:))

    Thanks to Mer optimism..
Mr. Yusren as KaSiOp – Operation section head of Gambir Station just called me few minutes ago clarifying that the concourse ticket should be available 24 hours, so those practices was illegal. He will asses and fix the operation soonest.
I’m quite surprise and happy with this response. I appreciate much the feedback and hope things get better.. from every little things that we found. Seems that we can more rely on PT. Kereta Api Indonesia..
    Its a big relief..
